Before Getting Started

To get started with the Adobe Datawarehouse datasource type we need to create a new OAuth project and input information into Alli’s Client Settings. To complete these steps you will need someone with Adobe admin access and someone with Alli admin access.

Creating A New OAuth Project In Adobe

  1. Navigate to the Adobe Developer Console for your organization: Loading... | Adobe Developer Console

  2. Click Create new project

  3. Select Adobe Analytics from the list of APIs

  4. Choose OAuth Server-to-Server as the authentication type

  5. Select the Adobe Analytics product profiles and click Save configured API

  6. Click OAuth Server-to-Server under the Credentials

  7. Note down the following information:

    1. Client ID

    2. Client Secret

    3. Technical Account ID

    4. Organization ID

We also need to the Global Company ID:

  1. Navigate to the Adobe Experience Cloud for your organization:

  2. Click on Adobe Analytics

  3. Within Adobe Analytics, click on Admin

  4. Under the Admin drop-down, select Company Settings

  5. Lastly, select API Access

  6. Note down the Global Company ID

    1. Ex. companyname1

Required Authorization

Alli leverages the same OAuth information across a client and can be reused to create multiple datasources within that client. This requires the OAuth information to be added into Alli Client Settings:

  1. Navigate to the Sources page within the Alli Reporting section

  2. Click on Client Settings next to Add New Datasource

    1. If you don’t see this button, you will need to request a higher access level in Alli

  3. Under the Omniture Settings, add your Global Company ID as the Username

The Shared Secret requires the previously gathered OAuth information to be formatted prior to being input:

  1. Copy the array into your own text editor

    "auth_type": "server_to_server",
    "company_name": "<Global Company ID>",
    "client_id": "<Client ID>",
    "client_secret": "<Client Secret>",
    "technical_account_id": "<Technical Account ID>",
    "organization_id": "<Organization ID>"
  2. Replace the information based on your previously noted OAuth information leaving auth_type as is. Your array should look similar to this example

    "auth_type": "server_to_server",
    "company_name": "companyname1",
    "client_id": "323f3k393ofkpok3p9kof3",
    "client_secret": "p8d-pk39f3pkf0-3kpksfs3",
    "technical_account_id": "",
    "organization_id": "390jgfp3ps9kf93kkkfq2@AdobeOrg"
  3. Copy you newly created array, including the { and } symbols, and paste into the Shared Secret input of your Omniture Settings.

  4. Click Save
