Tutorial: Walking through the Ad Details Page

Page Explainers

1. Overall Tab: Performance Data

The Overall tab provides a timeline-based graph that displays key performance metrics, including:

  • Impressions, Clicks, Revenue, Spend, CTR, CPM, CPC, and ROAS
This visualization helps you monitor trends over time, identify spikes or dips, and track how your creative performs throughout its lifecycle.

2. Overall Tab: Metadata

All metadata associated with the creative is displayed in the Overall tab, including:

  • Campaign, Ad Set, and Ad Names
Our taxonomies contain valuable information pertinent to the ads. Use these fields to filter down which creatives you wish to view.

  • Platform and Publisher

  • Dates Live
This information gives you the context you need to understand where and how the creative is running.

3. Overall Tab: ML Analysis

The Overall tab also surfaces key insights powered by machine learning:

  • Extracted Text: Displays any text identified in the creative, which can inform messaging trends or text-related performance.

  • Color Palette: Lists the primary colors in the creative, offering insight into visual consistency and branding.

  • Creative Tags: Identifies objects and themes (e.g., “car,” “tree,” “smile”) to help you find common elements across high-performing creatives.

4. Overall Tab: Deduplication Breakdown

For creatives associated with multiple ads (e.g., identical ads placed across platforms or audiences), the Overall tab includes a deduplication breakdown table.

  • This table consolidates and displays performance metrics for each individual placement, allowing you to compare how identical creatives perform in different contexts.

  • Clicking on any ad in the table will take you to its specific Ad Details page, where you can view its unique performance and metadata.

5. Video Analysis Tab

The Video Analysis tab provides insights specifically tailored for video creatives, including:

  • View Rate Graph: Tracks viewer retention across the video timeline, showing where audiences drop off. This graph also highlights shot changes, allowing you to assess pacing and its potential impact on engagement.

  • Logo Identification: Pinpoints when logos appear in the video timeline, helping you evaluate branding placement and its correlation with performance.

  • Video Tags by Timeline: Breaks the video into quarters (0-25%, 25-50%, etc.) and displays objects and themes identified in each segment. These tags can be cross-referenced with view rate data to uncover what elements drive or detract from engagement.

6. Creative Scorecard Tab

The Creative Scorecard tab evaluates your video creative against industry best practices using large language models (LLMs). It includes:

  • Overall Score: The percentage of best practices the creative meets.

  • Best Practice Breakdown: A true/false indicator for each best practice, giving you precise feedback on areas of alignment or improvement.
Use this tab to validate creative execution, align with industry benchmarks, and refine your strategy. (For an aggregated view of Creative Scorecard results across all creatives, see: Creative Scorecard Overview.)

7. Playback and Preview

  • Video Playback: Watch your video creative directly within the Ad Details page to review its content and timing.

  • Preview URL: Click on the creative asset to view its live version, ensuring it’s up to date and troubleshooting any discrepancies.

    • If the creative capture failed, a "Preview Not Available" placeholder will appear.

    • Use the Refresh Creative button to re-initiate the capture and analysis process as needed.

Pro Tips

  • Leverage ML Analysis: Use extracted text, color palettes, and creative tags to identify patterns across top-performing creatives. For example, you might discover that ads with specific colors or objects consistently drive better results.

  • Optimize Video Content: Combine view rate data with video tags and logo placement to determine what elements resonate most and adjust pacing, visuals, or branding accordingly.

  • Validate Best Practices: The Creative Scorecard is an invaluable tool for ensuring your video ads align with industry benchmarks—use it to make confident, data-backed recommendations.

  • Dig Into Granularity: Use the placement breakdown table to spot differences in performance across audiences or platforms, even for identical creatives.
