How to: Change Data source for a Generative Dashboard

You can now build dashboards from any data source, not just Cross-Channel.
There are three ways to do it:

1. From Reports (Recommended)

Best for ADL Views and connected data sources.

1. Go to Reports and create a new data report.

2. Select From Datasource.

3. Choose the datasource you want to build a dashboard for.

4. Once in Explorer View, click the three dots beside Export.

5. Select Generate Dashboard.
   You’ll be redirected to Generative Dashboards with your selected datasource already applied.

2. From Sources

Best for raw datasources (no ADL Views).

1. Go to Sources and find the datasource you want.

2. Click the three dots in the last column of the table row.

3. Select Audit.

4. In the Audit view, click the downward arrow beside View Data.

5. Select View in Generative Dashboards.
   You’ll land in Gen Dash with your datasource already selected.

3. The Secret Way

If you’re already on the Gen Dash landing page:

1. Extend your URL to include ?data-source=true
   Example:
   https://app.alliplatform.com/client/<client-slug>/native-visualizations/create?data-source=true

2. The page will reload and show a badge in the prompt bar with Cross-Channel preselected.

3. Click the badge to open the Select Datasource modal.

4. Choose your datasource and start building dashboards — without leaving the tool.
