Purpose
Vision to Dash lets you turn an image into a live dashboard in Alli.
Instead of writing a detailed prompt, you can upload a mock, sketch, or screenshot and Alli will recreate it using real data.
This helps you move from idea to working dashboard fast.
Steps
Go to Generative Dashboards
From the Alli navigation bar, select Dashboards → Generative Dashboards.
Upload an Image
Click the attach icon in the prompt bar.
Upload one of the following:
-
A sketch or mock of a dashboard layout
-
A screenshot of a Tableau or Looker dashboard
-
A layout created in a design or vibe coding tool
Add Optional Context
In the prompt bar, describe what the dashboard should show.
Example:
“Recreate this dashboard using campaign data from the last 90 days. Focus on spend, conversions, and ROAS by channel.”
This step is optional but improves accuracy.
Review Column Selections
Alli will identify the metrics and dimensions needed to match your image.
Check the Available Columns panel to confirm:
-
Correct metrics
-
Correct breakdowns
-
Correct date range
Add or remove columns if needed.
Generate Dashboard
Click Generate.
Alli will:
-
Recreate the layout structure
-
Build visualizations that match the image
-
Connect charts to live data
Review and Refine
Check each visualization:
-
Confirm metrics and labels
-
Validate date ranges
-
Ensure the chart type fits the data
You can edit visualizations one at a time if needed.
Save Your Dashboard
Click Save Dashboard.
Add a clear title and description so others can find it later.
Common Scenarios
You sketched a layout and want it built with real data.
Upload the sketch and generate.
You have an old Tableau or Looker dashboard.
Upload a screenshot and recreate it in Alli.
You designed a mock in a vibe coding tool.
Upload the mock and connect it to live campaign data.
Notes & Best Practices
-
Clear images work best. Avoid cropped or blurry screenshots.
-
Add time range context in your prompt if it matters.
-
Filters apply to the entire dashboard.
-
Only the data table is exportable, not the charts.
-
The first generation gets you most of the way there. You can refine after.
