How To: Save & Share a Dashboard

Purpose

Clients can view dashboards that have been shared with them, but they cannot create or edit dashboards. To share, you need to mark a dashboard as Shared and then send the client the dashboard’s link.

Clients user have all been added so they have the required permissions to the application; if you are not sure just put in a support request and the Alli team can get them added.

Steps

  1. Open the Dashboard You Want to Share

    • Navigate to the dashboard you want to share with a client.

  2. Save the Dashboard

    • In the top right (same line as the title), click Save.

    • In the modal, choose:

      • Personal Dashboard → visible only to you.

      • Shared Dashboard → visible to everyone on this client.

    • Click Save.

  3. Switch a Personal Dashboard to Shared (if needed)

    • If you saved it as Personal, you can update it later.

    • Click the three dots (⋮) menu in the top right of the dashboard.

    • Select Set as Shared.

  4. Copy & Send the Link

    • Once the dashboard is marked as Shared, copy the dashboard’s URL from your browser.

    • Send this link directly to your client.

  5. Client Access

    • Clients will have view-only access.

    • Only the user who created the dashboard can edit or delete it.

Notes & Best Practices

  • Clients cannot navigate to the landing page of Generative Dashboards — you must send them the link.

  • Make sure the dashboard is set as Shared before sending, or the client won’t be able to view it.

  • Edits only appear to clients after you click Save again.

  • If multiple strategists/teammates need access, just send them the same link or they should be able to see shared dashboards on the Landing Page for Generative Dashboards.
