Getting Started

When setting up this datasource you will need to input the API Key from SEMRush, the domain of the website you’d like to investigate, a regional database, and the limit of results you’d like it to output.

Where to find your accounts API Key:

  1. Click the drop down in the upper right corner and go to My Profile

  2. When in My Profile, click on Subscription info on the left side

  3. Once in Subscription info, navigate to the API Units tab under the Subscription info header

  4. Once there, your API Key and API units will be the only things on the page.

Limitations

Due to the response from the server only coming in one format all the Dimensions and Metrics are required except for the date which you can choose to include or not. Also as of August 17th, 2021 PMG’s SEMRush account has 0 API units with no plans to refill for the near future so the datasource is unusable for real data from SEMRush. This will continue being the case until the API units are refilled.
