How-To: Delete a Template

Overview

You may have an old template that should no longer be used, or maybe you just set something up incorrectly. This how to guide will walk you through the steps to delete the Template

You can't delete a Template if it has any dependent Tasks. If you try to, you'll receive an error message of You cannot delete the Template. It has Tasks that were created from it.

You can't recover a Template once it's deleted. Make sure you have any data you need saved.

Steps

Step 1 - Find the Template

  1. Click the Templates navigation button on the side navigation.

  2. Click Manage in the top right

  3. Select either Template Library or Client Templates to select the appropriate template location

  4. Search for the Template using the magnifying glass or by scrolling/using page navigation

  5. Look under the Dependent Tasks column. If the number is >0, click the number. If not, skip to Step 3.

Step 2 - Delete Dependent Tasks

  1. Follow this how to guide to delete each dependent Task found in the table on the Dependent Task tab.

  2. Once all dependent Tasks are deleted, switch to the Settings tab for the Template you want to delete.

Step 3 - Delete the Template

  1. Click the red Delete text at the bottom of the page.

  2. Confirm that you really want to delete the Template.

You may also use the 3-dot menu to the right to the right of the template if it already has 0 dependent tasks.
